Applications:
Ammonia is primarily used in the production of nitric acid and ammonium salts, as well as in the manufacturing of organic compounds such as urea, dyes, pharmaceuticals, and plastics. It is a colorless gas with a distinct pungent odor and is widely used in the chemical industry, mainly as a starting material for nitrogen-based fertilizers and nitric acid. In laboratories, it serves as a weak base in the synthesis of various chemicals. Due to its ease of liquefaction under pressure at normal temperatures and its high vaporization heat (327 kcal/g), ammonia is also used as a refrigerant gas. Additionally, it is used in SNCR units for flue gas treatment in thermal power plants and waste incineration facilities, and as a catalyst in many chemical processes.
